OUR VALUES

Accessibility without Borders

The outdoors provide an essential sanctuary for everyone, and our mission is to eliminate the barriers that prevent people of all abilities from birding. By combining local mentorship with conservation, we cultivate an inclusive community where veterans and neighbors find kinship and tranquility through the shared joy of birding and the outdoors together.

Join Our Mission

We invite veterans, outdoor enthusiasts, and community members to get involved in our conservation efforts. Whether you're looking to volunteer, become a guide, or support our programs, your participation helps us make birding accessible for all.

The Journey of Our Founder

Wings for Access emerged from a sudden life transformation and the firm conviction that enjoying the wild should remain possible regardless of physical ability.

For more than 25 years, our founder built a successful career in the short-term rental industry, managing hundreds of luxury homes in Colorado. Life was fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and rooted in creating exceptional travel experiences for others.

A Life-Changing Shift

After a traumatic brain injury, the pace of life slowed dramatically. Recovery brought not only physical and cognitive challenges, but also a deeper realization: access to meaningful outdoor experiences is often limited or overlooked.

Healing Through Nature

Bridging the Accessibility Gap

We are building a platform and community designed to make birding and nature-based travel more accessible for individuals of all abilities. By combining deep experience in hospitality with local partnerships, WFA aims to remove barriers and open doors to the healing power of the natural world.
